The Austin Film Society announced Monday the full lineup of honorees for the annual Texas Film Hall of Fame, which will be held March 10 at Austin Studios.
In addition to honoring Carol Burnett, whose award was previously announced, the society said it will honor Michael Barker, co-president and co-founder of Sony Pictures Classics; Chandra Wilson, actor, director, producer and Houston native will plays Miranda Bailey on “Grey’s Anatomy”; and Jesse Plemons, a Dallas native known for his role on the Austin-filed TV series “Friday Night Lights.”
Ethan Hawke will present the Austin Chronicle Champion of the Arts Award to Barker, whose films have received 159 Oscar nominations since the founding of Sony Pictures Classics 25 years ago. Barker is a University of Texas graduate.
Chandra has received many awards from the Screen Actors Guild, People’s Choice, Prism and NAACP Image, and has received five Emmy nominations.
Plemons, who has had roles in such films as “Black Mass,” “Bridge of Spies” and “The Master,” will receive the Rising Star Award.
The awards ceremony will be held at Austin Studios, 1901 E. 51st St. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by the Texas Party at 10 p.m. Tickets and tables range from $600 to $25,000. For more details, visit http://www.austinfilm.org.
